Luciano Marini

Born in Pola, 28 August 1939
Graduate in Electronic Engineering

Between 1964 and 1970 Marini worked at Schlumberger, an oilfield services company, in Europe (Vienna, Paris), and Africa (heading projects in Nigeria, Cameroun, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea).

In 1973 he began his career as an IT entrepreneur, setting up Sys-Dat, a group specializing in the design and development of information systems.

In 1980 he decided to enter the world of publishing and corporate communication, founding the Alfa Line group, which published the magazine Linea Edp.

After ten years of growing the business to become market leader, in 1990 he sold Alfa Line to Havas Group (Cep/Agepe).

In 1993 Marini joined Progres Group as a senior partner in the holding and board director of various shareholdings. After a period of rapid and significant growth (turnover grew more than five-fold in 5 years) in 1999 Progres Group was acquired by the multinational CSC (Computer Science Corporation).

In 2000 Luciano Marini was the originator and founder of Visiant.
